Recently, the people of Warrensburg were offered the gift of music in a beloved historic setting, the Old Johnson County Courthouse. My family and I enjoyed three of the four concerts sponsored by the Warrensburg Arts Commission through a grant from the Missouri Arts Council. Following the popular format of last fall’s New Harmonies weekly performances, Eddie Osborne organized and gathered local musicians and Kansas City-based performers to round out the series’ offerings.

The Warrensburg Arts Commission and UCM is hosting Missouri Arts Council On Location Tuesday May 18, 1 - 5pm in the UCM Art Gallery and Wednesday May 19, 9 -11am in the Jack Moore Room at the Wbg train depot, with MAC Asst. Director Michael Donovan.

A distinguished band director and teacher at WHS, Chuck Appleton has decided it is his time to retire. Of his total 31 years of teaching, 23 of those have been here at WHS, with the other eight spent at Dixon.

Art and photography works by members of Mid-Missouri Artists will be on display during the annual Summer Exhibition hosted by the University of Central Missouri Gallery of Art and Design in a two-part series this summer in Gallery 115. Gallery admission is free.
